Dear all,

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my secure thanks and wishes to all leaders, managers, and researchers at the national, regional, and local centers for hydro-meteorological forecasting; experts, lecturers, students, and officials from universities and organizations; businesses as well as readers who are working in the field of hydro-meteorology and who are interested into hydro-meteorological science and advanced technology.

I would also like to take this opportunity to share with you our progresses made so far: in 2020, the index of Vietnam Journal of Hydrometeorology at the Interdisciplinary Council for Earth and Environmental Sciences has been increased from 0.5 to 0.75, and that at the Professorship Council for Irrigation has maintained 1.0. We cannot achieve great success without the leadership and guidance from our leaders at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and our leaders at the Viet Nam Meteorological and Hydrological Administration, hard work from our Editorial board of the Journal, contributions from prominent experts locally and internationally through peer review and most importantly, high-quality research papers from authors.

The Vietnam Journal of Hydrometeorology has covered the latest developments regarding cutting-edge technology of storm forecasting, changes in extreme weather events, and climate change throughout the year. The Journal also publishes English editions periodically and has been a member of the prestigious index system (Crossref, Scilit, CiteFactor, Publons, Google Scholar, and VCitationGate). This is remarkable progress and we are happy to say that we are growing quickly, at both national and international levels. 

As the year 2021 is around the corner, the Journal will promise to create a high-quality journal so as to sustain scholarly dialogue between Vietnam and the world. Therefore, we are encouraging you to submit, comment, and suggest to our Journal so that we can fulfill our mission successfully.
