Các nghiên cứu về chuyển vận bùn cát trong sông có độ dốc đáy lớn gặp rất nhiều trở ngại so với sông vùng đồng bằng do địa hình đáy sông thay đổi đột ngột và chế độ dòng chảy thay đổi rất nhanh,... Vận chuyển bùn cát ở các sông có độ dốc đáy lớn là một vấn đề phức tạp vì vật liệu đáy sông thường không đồng nhất và chứa nhiều loại hạt có kích thước khác nhau như đất, sỏi, cuội và đá tảng,... Nghiên cứu này bước đầu phát triển một chương trình mô phỏng quá trình bồi xói địa hình đáy của các con kênh dốc dựa trên tiếp cận cấp phối thành phần hạt và xem xét chuyển động của hạt bùn cát theo phương ngang đến quá trình duy trì sự ổn định đáy kênh. Các phương trình thủy động lực hai chiều (2D) và vận chuyển bùn cát đáy được rời rạc bởi phương pháp sai phân hữu hạn (FDM) và viết trên nền tảng ngôn ngữ phần mềm Fortran 90. Chương trình phát triển được áp dụng mô phỏng diễn biến bồi xói đáy của một đoạn sông Teabeak, Hàn Quốc. Khả năng thực hiện của mô hình được đánh giá thông qua các chỉ số thống kê NASH và RMSE. Kết các quả với NASH = 0,79–0,83 và RMSE = 13%–19% thể hiện sự phù hợp của mô hình đã áp dụng, qua đó cho thấy triển vọng triển khai mô hình cho các nghiên cứu thực tế trong tương lai.
